Background
Marisol trained in classical ballet from the age of seven and danced professionally for eleven years, mostly in touring companies in Spain and then in the United States. She stopped dancing at thirty-two, taught in other people's schools for six years, and opened this one in a first-floor room on 61st Street in 2011 with fourteen students.
She teaches every ballet class in the building above the first level, which is a deliberate choice rather than a shortage of teachers: a ballet syllabus taught by four people is four syllabuses, and the thing a parent is paying for is that the person watching a nine-year-old's turnout in April is the person who watched it in September.
She is also the person who decides that a class is full. That is the least popular part of the job and it is the reason the waiting list on this site is a real queue with a real position in it rather than a form that says we will be in touch.

Every fee here is a rate times a number of sessions. Every fee on this site is a per-session rate multiplied by the number of times the class actually meets in that term. The multiplication is shown rather than the answer, because two classes of the same length in the same term can honestly cost different amounts when a holiday falls on one of their weekdays.

- Ballet — The technique everything else in this building borrows from, taught slowly and in the same order every year.
What to expect in this class
Expect the same handful of positions revisited at a different level of detail depending on where a dancer is on the ladder, corrections given to a dancer by name rather than to the room in general, and a plain answer if you ask about pointe: it is a conversation about ankle strength and growth plates, held one student at a time, rather than a birthday.
