Fall Term 2026 is open 000-000-0000

Adults

Adult classes

Six open classes a week for adults, including four for people who have never danced.

  • Eighteen and over
  • six classes open to this age
  • five disciplines to choose from

What eighteen and over actually gets

Adult classes are open level and they are not a soft version of the children's class. Most people in them started as adults. The single most common thing we are told by a new adult student is that they nearly did not come in, and the second most common is that the class was less frightening than the corridor.

  • Open level means beginners are expected, not tolerated. Every combination is given in two versions.
  • You may pay by the term like everybody else, and there is a page explaining what happens if you travel for work.
  • Adults are welcome in the recital and about a quarter of them take part.
  • There is no dress code beyond something you can move in and shoes appropriate to the class.

On the timetable

Every class open to this age

Filtered from the whole timetable by age rather than by discipline. Every row is a real class with a real number of places and a fee the enrolment system actually charges.

six classes are open to this age band. The fee shown is this term's: a per-session rate multiplied by the sessions that class actually meets.

What a class here is actually like

In the room: Open level means the class assumes some people in the room have never danced or played before — it is not a separate beginners' class, and it is not a harder class that beginners are merely permitted into. Every combination is given in two versions, and taking the simpler one is not a lesser class.

The first term: The hard part is rarely the material. It is the twenty minutes before the class, in the corridor and in front of the mirror. Most adults who come back after the first week stay for the term, and most of the people already in the room started exactly where a new student is starting.

What it costs: Fees for the open adult classes are in the table above, worked the same way as every other fee on this site. There is no separate adult rate and no beginner discount — the arithmetic is the same rate times the same sessions.

The corridor is worse than the class

The corridor and the mirror are what stop most adults from coming back, not the material — and both get easier by about the fourth week, once the warm-up stops requiring attention.

There is no dress code beyond something to move in and shoes appropriate to the class. Standing at the side for the first few classes is a normal way to begin, and nobody will mention it.

Book a free trial, and see for yourself

A trial is a real class and the student joins in. It is the only evidence about a school that is not marketing, which is why it costs nothing. If the class you want is full you will be offered the waiting list instead, with the position you would be in — a number, not a promise to be in touch.
