Including the part we cannot fix
Accessibility
What is step-free, what is not, and what we will do about it.
The building
- The street entrance, the corridor, Studio A, Studio B, the office and the accessible toilet are step-free.
- Studio C and the three music rooms are on the first floor. There is a lift and it takes a wheelchair.
- The corridor where families wait is narrow. At the busiest times it is genuinely crowded and we would rather tell you that now.
- There is a quiet room off the office that can be used before or after a class by a student who needs one. Ask.
- Every class here is taught by one teacher with no assistant. If a student needs one-to-one support in class, that support has to come with them, and we will make that work rather than turn it away.
- This website is built to be used with a keyboard and with a screen reader, at any text size, and with animation switched off.
If something here does not work for you, telephone or e-mail the office and say what happened. That is a more useful report than any audit and it gets acted on.
How this website itself is built to be used
Every page carries one heading and a link at the very top that skips straight past the menu to the content, for anybody working from a keyboard or a screen reader. Every photograph carries a description of what is actually in it rather than a filename, and every menu on this site opens, moves through and closes without a mouse.
Text here is never fixed at a pixel size that resists your browser's own zoom, so making it larger in your own browser enlarges it properly instead of breaking the layout underneath it. Contrast between text and its background is checked on every page before the site is published, rather than being asserted here and left untested.
Nothing on this site moves under a browser set to reduce motion. Every animation and transition on the page is effectively switched off under that setting, and the video on the home page does not start on its own at all — it only plays if you start it yourself.
If something here does not work for you
Telephone 000-000-0000 or e-mail danceschool@bestdealwebdesign.com and say what happened. That is a more useful report than any audit, and it is answered by a person.
This is a demonstration website. This is a demonstration website. Woodside Academy of Dance & Music is not a real school, no enrolment made on this site reserves a place anywhere, no child is registered by it, and the telephone number is a placeholder. It was built to show what a small school gets for a fixed price.
